What Is a Sponsorship?

A  sponsorship is financial support, promotional support, material  assistance, event partnership, or volunteer-backed assistance provided  by the Foundation to help an artistic individual, group, or project  succeed.

Examples include:

  • Art exhibitions
  • Theater productions
  • Photography projects
  • Educational workshops
  • Community arts programs
  • Student arts support
  • Independent creative studios
  • Cultural festivals
  • Musical performances
  • Film or animation development
  • Historical or costume arts
  • Public art installations

Core Principles of Sponsorship

The Foundation generally looks for projects that demonstrate:

1. Artistic Value

The project should contribute something creative, educational, inspirational, or culturally meaningful.

2. Community Benefit

Preference is often given to projects that positively affect communities, students, emerging artists, or underserved groups.

3. Professional Conduct

Applicants should demonstrate professionalism, reliability, communication skills, and respect for deadlines.

4. Clear Vision

The Foundation prefers projects with:

  • Defined goals
  • Clear timelines
  • Realistic budgets
  • Strong presentation materials

5. Positive Representation

Projects should reflect values of creativity, respect, inclusion, and artistic integrity.

Who May Apply

Sponsorship consideration may be available to:

  • Individual artists
  • Students
  • Nonprofit arts groups
  • Independent creators
  • Event organizers
  • Creative startups
  • Community programs
  • Studios operating under nonprofit supervision
  • Cultural organizations

Applicants do not necessarily need to be formally incorporated businesses.

What the Foundation May Sponsor

The Foundation may provide support in areas such as:

Financial Assistance

  • Small grants
  • Scholarship assistance
  • Production support
  • Material funding

Event Sponsorship

  • Venue partnership
  • Promotional sponsorship
  • Program sponsorship


General Sponsorship Process

Step 1 — Initial Inquiry

The applicant submits:

  • Name
  • Contact information
  • Description of project
  • Artistic category
  • Sponsorship request
  • Timeline
  • Estimated budget
  • Supporting materials (photos, sketches, portfolio, etc.)

Step 2 — Review Process

The Foundation reviews:

  • Artistic merit
  • Feasibility
  • Community impact
  • Alignment with Foundation goals
  • Available funding/resources
  • Public presentation quality

Additional meetings or interviews may occur if needed.

Step 3 — Sponsorship Determination

Applicants may receive:

  • Full sponsorship
  • Partial sponsorship
  • Promotional partnership only
  • Volunteer assistance only
  • Deferred consideration for future opportunities

Not all requests are guaranteed approval.

Step 4 — Agreement & Expectations

If approved, both parties may agree to:

  • Usage of logos or names
  • Event recognition wording
  • Deadlines and deliverables
  • Public acknowledgment
  • Appropriate conduct expectations
  • Reporting or follow-up requirements

Expectations of Sponsored Artists & Organizations

Sponsored individuals or groups are generally expected to:

  • Maintain professional communication
  • Follow through on commitments
  • Properly credit the Foundation when requested
  • Use funds/resources appropriately
  • Represent themselves honestly
  • Respect event or partnership guidelines

Failure to uphold agreements may affect future sponsorship eligibility.

Preferred Qualities in Applicants

The Foundation often favors applicants who:

  • Show dedication to their craft
  • Demonstrate long-term artistic goals
  • Support other artists
  • Build positive communities
  • Have a teachable and collaborative attitude
  • Create projects with lasting value

  • Sponsorship decisions are made case-by-case.
  • Funding availability may vary throughout the year.
  • Submission does not guarantee approval.
  • The Foundation may prioritize educational and community-based arts initiatives.
  • Emergency or last-minute requests may be limited.
